Selezioni
To mark the anniversary of the rounding up of the Rome Ghetto (16 October 1943), the artist Filippo Riniolo is presenting the performance work Selezioni at MAXXI. Curated by Francesco Cascino and Micol Di Veroli, the project takes its cue from the disconcerting episode of the selection at Auschwitz.

An act of trivial bureaucracy that draws the line between death and survival, to reconcile the inhuman accounts of the camp.

To this gesture - terrible in the ease with which it is carried out - Riniolo has superimposed another gesture, the contemporary gesture of the technological interface of social channels, with the aim of making us feel emotionally the horror of extermination, grafting it onto the digital devices of everyday life.
